How Taco Tamer Was Invented

The inspiration for Taco Tamer came from a simple but frustrating problem. During the pandemic, when restrictions were finely lifted, Founder, Tonia Mitchell,  had her first big get-together after months apart from her dearest friends. They were super excited to see each other again, so they threw a "Taco and Tequila" themed barbecue in her friend's backyard - soft tacos, hard tacos, all the trimmings, and, of course, plenty of tequila! 

As they were laughing and catching up, a few of Tonia's girlfriends mentioned how much they LOVE tacos but avoid eating them when dining out because of how messy they can be - especially hard shells that crack on the first bite and spill everywhere. With everyone dressed up in beautiful sundresses, the mess was even more annoying. That conversation of the "messy tac-astrophe" stuck with Tonia and resonated in her brain all night long.

The next morning, Tonia started experimenting with cardboard and whatever materials she can find at the craft store to fashion a mock-up taco slider, determined to find a solution. After a few experiments and several cardboard prototypes later that worked, she realized she solved the age-old, messy taco problem! This, my friends, is how Taco Tamer was born! Over the past few years, Tonia has developed and perfected the design to make it look beautiful on your table and to match any decor, while also elegantly showcasing the star of the show... the taco! She spent years engineering it to fit comfortably in your hand, made it easy to use, and versatile enough to fit any taco - whether it's a hard shell, soft shell, or even a keto-friendly lettuce wrap. Now, Tonia's utility patented design is here to elevate the way we eat tacos - clean, elegant and stress-free. 

Taco Tamer is a 100% woman-owned and operated business. Tonia built it from the ground up with passion and perseverance. She believes her biggest strength is her faith in God and her trust in Him to carry out this vision. As an entrepreneur, Tonia hopes to inspire others to trust in the dreams God gave them and to have the courage to chase them!
